When she was born, the thought was that getting a bay filly by Courage of Equinox from our beloved Kate would be the "best of all" but it did leave the little filly with a big name to live up to. Not to worry though, Bess never doubted her ability to do so. Trained and shown exclusively by her amateur owners, Best of All amassed over 70 titles in top competition in Western, hunter, & equitation. As our daughter Courtney's reliable partner, she won wide recognition as a Western Pleasure Jr. Exhibitor mount. Bess and Courtney won

multiple equitation titles at New England, and equitation and pleasure titles at other top regional shows such as New York and Mid-A. In their one opportunity to go to OKC, they were named third in the World in Jr. Exhibitor Western Pleasure. In our hearts, no horse will ever usurp the title of "Best of All" which we feel Bess earned with her intelligence, her consistency, and her elegant frame and motion. More than a best competitor, Bess was our best friend. Her final foal, Hartland Best Man is now carrying on the legacy.
